The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra Chair Endowment Program
The purpose of the CHAIR ENDOWMENT PROGRAM is to attract and retain distinguished musicians in the most significant positions of the Orchestra. The Chairs provide the foundation necessary for the Orchestra to continue to grow in musical competence and stature.
This program offers the contributor, whether individual or family, the opportunity to endow a named Chair that reflects their particular interest in the Orchestra. Named Chairs are offered for a 20 Year period and funded as follows:
MUSIC DIRECTOR . . . . . $750,000 CONCERTMASTER . . . . . $250,000 STRING PRINCIPALS: VIOLIN II, VIOLA, CELLO & BASS . . . $60,000 OTHER PRINCIPALS: FLUTE, OBOE, CLARINET, BASSOON, HORN, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, TUBA, HARP & TIMPANI . . . . $40,000
SECTION CHAIRS: Section chairs are 25% less than corresponding Principal Chair. All recognition benefits are similar.

Personalized giving enhances our community’s cultural arts, enabling the Orchestra to continue providing world-class guest soloists and imaginative and masterful concerts that bring audiences to their feet, time after time. All endowed Chairs are tax deductible. The chairs will be funded from the income accrued from these gifts which will be added to the Orchestra’s Endowment fund managed by the Hilton Head Island Foundation.
