Cellist, Brandon Leonard returns to the Lowcountry after winning Gold at the Sphinx Competition, to perform the charming Rococo Variations of Tchaikovsky, paired with two virtuoso works for string orchestra: Bach’s immortal Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 and Jessie Mongomery’s jazzy “Strum”. Mozart’s effervescent “Prague” Symphony concludes the program, conducted by the young rising star, Vinay Parameswaran, in his HHSO debut. Guest Conductor Parameswaran recently concluded five seasons as an Assistant Conductor with the Cleveland Orchestra and is widely praised for his “ability to find sensitivity in scores that many do not detect.” (Philadelphia Enquirer)
