Fall League Newsletter

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:
Dear League Friends,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to another exciting year as a member of The League of the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. Whether it is your rookie year or you are a seasoned veteran, I promise it will be fun and full of opportunities to fellowship with the rest of the team.

January 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of our League, so “30” will be a theme all year. We began with a Sip-n-Shop on Saturday, September 13, at J McLaughlin on Main Street. The League received $1,113 thanks to our members and friends who shopped between 11 – 3. Our Brunch on Wednesday, October 8, at the Moss Creek Clubhouse was full of great conversations and music from Charlie Curtis.

Musicales begin on November 2, and the 5th Annual Swing FORE the Symphony Golf Scramble and reception will be held on Thursday, November 13. Continuing our “30” theme, we are taking a swing at a unique fundraiser beginning in December, so stay tuned for more information!

Are you excited? We have not even hit halftime yet. We are still in the planning stages for a brand-new Spring fashion Show at SoundWaves. There will be the Symphony Under the Stars, Youth Concerto Competition, HHIPC Young Artist competition, and events at SoundWaves. There must be thirty ways to volunteer!

I look forward to seeing you and volunteering with you as we support The League and the HHSO for another great year. We were able to give $125,000 last year. Just imagine what we can accomplish together this year!

Nancy Millette, President

The Moss Creek Clubhouse was the venue for our second preseason brunch on October 8th. Fifty-seven League members attended and enjoyed a brunch of eggs, French toast, breakfast meats, potatoes, fruits, and pastries.

Charlie Curtis provided background music on the keyboard and attendees were able to view a slideshow presentation highlighting various past League events.

Nancy Millette, President of the League, gave a warm welcome to all and encouraged all League members to promote the League and the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra to the public. Nancy mentioned the upcoming Spring fundraising event. A fashion show and wine event at SoundWaves in March.

Terry Hicks, former President and chairperson of Swing FORE the Symphony, provided an update on the fundraiser and asked for the promotion of more participation.

A good time was had by all.
