For three decades, the Hilton Head International Piano Competition has welcomed extraordinary pianists from around the world to Hilton Head Island, giving emerging artists an opportunity to perform, compete and take important steps toward international careers.
Founded by the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra in 1996, the HHIPC has grown into one of the leading international piano competitions in the United States. Competitors perform before internationally acclaimed juries, connect with audiences throughout the Lowcountry and, for those who reach the final round, experience the thrill of performing with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.
BravoPiano! returns in 2027 with Made in the USA, a festival celebrating American composers and the remarkable range of American piano music.
The festival will welcome an exceptional roster of classical and jazz artists, including the acclaimed piano duo Anderson & Roe, pianist Jon Kimura Parker with wind quintet WindSync, the Christian Sands Trio, and a special collaboration between pianist Fred Hersch and vocalist Janis Siegel.
The festival culminates with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra in an all-American three-concerto finale featuring Fei-Fei, Ray Ushikubo and Aaron Diehl, with music by Leroy Anderson, Edward MacDowell and George Gershwin.
